CHILDREN AND YOUTH ON SUNDAYS DURING COVID-19

During lockdown, our children’s and youth groups on Sundays will look very different to normal. We will be producing videos for our Treasure Seekers group (age 3-6), which you can find on the playlist below. Groups for older children and youth (Kids Alive, YP1 and YP2) will be arranging Zoom meetings on Sundays. Details of these will be in the weekly NEWS email. Do contact us for more info.

You can also find a bunch of other things to do with the kids by visiting the following resource pages for children and youth.

Partnering with Parents

Sunday 11 April

This Sunday at Little Diggers, Treasure Seekers and Kids Alive we are beginning a series in the book of Acts looking at the birth and growth of the early church. The aim of this series is:
* to see how the Spirit-empowered witness of Jesus’ followers brought about the birth and growth of the early church despite many difficulties.
* to understand the need for repentance and faith in Jesus as the only way to be rescued.
* to be challenged to continue the work of making the risen and ascended Jesus known to people from all nations.

This week we are looking at Acts 2:1-41 and we will learn that the only right response to the ascended Jesus is repentance. Some questions you might like to ask over lunch are as follows:
– What does it mean to repent?
– How will you know if someone has repented?
– What does Peter say about Jesus? How does that make you feel?
– What do you need to do to receive forgiveness and the Holy Spirit?

Next week’s passage is Acts 3:1-26

CHILDREN AND YOUTH ON SUNDAYS DURING COVID-19

As we have resumed physical services with restrictions, our children’s and youth groups on Sundays will look very different to normal. Please visit our services page and click through to read the information pack about the arrangements and arrival times for the various groups.

On Sundays during the morning service, we currently have our Summer Sundays groups running for crèche age up to Year 5. Please arrive from 10am at the main entrance to the church where you will be directed where to drop children.

As we stream our Sunday services during this season, we encourage those families who are unable to attend church to tune in together and participate. You can also find our series of videos for Treasure Seekers (age 3-6) opposite, plus our dedicated resource pages for children and youth. Please make use of these if you are at home on Sundays.

YOUTH AND CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES

Each Sunday morning service includes Creche, Treasure Seekers, Kids Alive and YP1 as below.

Please also note arrangements for Summer Sundays and occasional all-age services.

CRECHE FOR AGES 0 TO 3 YEARS

A well-equipped creche is available supervised by DBS checked staff. During their time in the creche all children will have the opportunity to join with a short time each week hearing about God and the Bible, join in with songs and do some craft plus play with many toys too! All activities and resources are age and stage appropriate.

TREASURE SEEKERS FOR AGES 3 TO 6 YEARS

Treasure Seekers join with the main congregation for the first part of the service and then leave for their own group part way through the service.  Singing, craft, music and Bible stories put together by an experienced team – a great time for little ones.

KIDS ALIVE FOR AGES 6 TO 10 YEARS

Kids Alive join with the main congregation for the first part of the service and then leave for their own group part way through the service.  Interactive and lively, they learn to see themselves and God through the Bible.

YP1 FOR SCHOOL YEARS 6 TO 9

YP1 join with the rest of the congregation in the Church on Sunday mornings  before leaving for their own group during the service.  Our skilled Youth Team is led by the Youth Minister and tuned into where pre-teens and teens are at.  Lively discussion, straightforward Bible teaching and searching discussion: the young people love it!

YP2 FOR SCHOOL YEARS 10 UPWARDS

YP2 meets on Sundays at the church (6:15-7:30pm) to join with the rest of the congregation for a time of sung worship and teaching.  Following light refreshments immediately after the service, they meet for their own programme (8:00-9:15pm) of Bible-based discussion geared to their age group.

SUMMER SUNDAYS

During the summer holidays, there is normally one morning service starting at 10:15am.  After the usual 10-15 minutes all together, children aged 3-10 years will leave for a mixture of Bible teaching, indoor and outdoor games, crafts and activities.  Crèche will operate as usual and YP1 will stay with the regular congregation.

Very occasionally we may have an all-age service on a Sunday morning. Check the calendar for details of upcoming services.
